Off the Persian Gulf a continuous drip embeds its mark in stone. Nature immaculately conceives the extraordinary when brushed up against its oppositional other. The genius of material paradox in the hands of conviction bears Hannah Levy’s creature sculptures which slink past the specter of resemblance yet with a misty familiarity. Mingling in an oyster of  Chanel Haute Couture, I coincide in materiality, bonding over ancestry with my new pearlescent friends. Sleek steel overstretched with pearl dotted silicone skin and sculpted satin topped in iridescent tweed with a soft hand, freeform mutations nod to their perspective pedigrees, icons of modernist design and fashion. Mystified object and mythical other, a mixed character with traits of her own and the opposite is exquisite. I hang my veil on a lightness of being and go where tuxedoed swans are farmed next door.

An occluded centerpiece blooms at the heart of every basin. The scoring and mapping of craftsmanship and tradition, the window quality of a veil draws attention to the condition of the object of the gaze. Concept and technique dip in and sip out a rarified material’s inherent properties. Rosa Aurora Rosa is an act of sublime collaboration between artist duo, Daniel Dewar and Grégory Gicquel mirroring the fantasy of Karl Lagerfeld’s relationship with his treasured atelier. Materials worked by hand burst with experimental determination and delicacy.

Where does the body end and the earth begin, a frescoe gaze evolves from the palette of Pompeii, peach and mink fade into dust with Chanel Les 9 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette in Affresco.
